MOTTO- We oppose catch and punish- We advocate identify and help.

OUR HISTORY- NICD started as a 50 bed inpatient treatment center for the dual diagnosed, (addiction and mental illness), population in Arizona. The treatment center was run by Steve J. Murray, Executive Director, (Current NICD Director / Founder of NICD / NI-COR), and was named N.A.S.A. Recovery, (Narcotics and Alcohol Services for Addiction) Recovery. Although the treatment center is now closed, (as of 1992- a result of State & Federal funding cuts), its mission of care, respect, and connectedness lives on through the current NICD web site, which went online in October of 2000.

NICD has established International relations, and connections, through its extensive networking efforts, as well as its International ABM, (Advisory Board Member) staff. Our ABM's provide guidance, direction, support, and articles for the site and its International NICD News Magazine.

The NICD Magazine, (publication started in 2001), contains articles published on a monthly basis targeting health and wellness, medical, addictions, prevention, recovery, spirituality, mental health, and other social issues. The E-Zine also provides a special segment geared towards the families of the alcoholic/addict via its ADASK, (Alcohol and Drug Addiction Survival Kit), series of articles, which is included in each edition of our free monthly newsletter.

We hope that you take the time to visit our entire site, sign up for our free magazine, ( Sign up at: http://www.nicd.us/addictionmagazine.html ), and that you keep coming back for our continuing and on-going updates

Sincerely,

NICD ABM Staff
