Words of a Recovering Alcoholic, sober since 1995
There is no mortal earthly power that can help you overcome addiction unless you want to help yourself. For anyone who has a sincere desire to become and stay sober, it is not only probable or possible but a surety which requires tweaking the thinking process and developing the habit of   “doing the next right thing”. This fundamental approach of the mindset not only helps one stay sober but has the power to convert your dreams in a breathtaking reality.
Research has shown that most persons while in treatment, are able to temporarily stay “sober” and adhere to the requisite changes with the help of everyday supervision However, the real recovery process begins with and extends onto the post treatment period where a person is “on his own” and has to face life on life’s terms. Like addiction, recovery is progressive and an ongoing process. Each additional day spent in sobriety incorporates and cements the necessary healthy behavioral changes into one’s personality as second nature and makes it easier-by-the-day to maintain sobriety. Our Structured Living facilities provide an ideal post treatment environment which is nurturing and comfortable, essentially vital factors required, especially during early recovery.
Our rules of stay are practical and provide a healthy “space” to each resident which allows one to exercise individual choice while being fully aware of the resulting consequences. This policy of cautious freedom provides our residents an opportunity to grow and learn the value of being accountable for their actions.
